Sherri Fairbairn 2025
Harriet and Sherri didn’t exactly plan to go into business together. Honestly, they were just trying to survive midlife, mahjong, and malfunctioning air fryers. But fate—or maybe just sheer boredom—had other plans.
They met during a casual game of mahjong that quickly turned lively, with spirited tile slamming and an unspoken competition over who brought the best snacks. Both were moms of young adults, which mostly meant navigating late-night texts, semi-urgent life updates, and the occasional vague Venmo request. At the time, each was managing her own business—until one post-game phone call shifted everything.
During that call, Sherri sensed something was off with Harriet. And she was right— Harriet had just closed her beloved restaurant and was feeling lost. Sherri shared that her own work life had started to shift in ways she hadn’t quite planned.
They brainstormed ideas for months. A line of emotional support plants? A personal concierge service? A mobile nap truck? Nothing felt quite right.
Then one day, Sherri returned from the beach after spotting a sea of “Gulf of Mexico” merchandise—t-shirts, mugs, koozies, all proudly proclaiming their location. Her young adult son took one look and, with impeccable timing, said:
“Wow. They’re going to have to rebrand that.”
Ding. Lightbulb moment.
Sherri immediately called Harriet. “Forget Mexico. Let’s brand the Gulf of America.”
And just like that, Red White and Sand was born—offering a high-end coastal lifestyle brand and curated collection. With patriotic flair, subtle sass and a whole lot of sand-loving spirit, Harriet and Sherri turned a beach day joke into a booming business.
Now proud wholesalers, they’re on a mission to get Red White and Sand into gift shops from sea to shining sea—because nothing says “USA” like sipping from a custom tumbler while wrapped in a luxurious towel with a coastline pun.
Two moms. One Gulf. Infinite possibilities
